Smial description

Hello! I am Pedro Angosto, founding member of the Flame of Anor Smial. I am twenty-six years old [March 1998] and am trying to finish once and for all my university studies in Philosophy.

Since I was twelve I have been a great fan and collector of comic-books. Now I am the editor of a fanzine on comic-books, called BRONZE and I'm trying to become a comic-book writer. All this takes most of my spare time!

I have known, loved and studied Tolkien's works since I was eighteen. In 1992 I became a founding member of the Spanish Tolkien Society but I left because I had some different ideas about Tolkien and the Tolkien Societies. I first joined the TS in 1994 but my membership lapsed until July of 1997. Now, I'm here to stay!

I am also a 'student of the occult' (oooooh!!), interested in any esoteric or spiritual tradition, religion or mythology. The tales of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table have fascinated me ever since I was a child. As an adult, the Quest for the Holy Grail is my own, personal, spiritual quest.

So, my main interest is in the works of Tolkien as a mythology, which contains, as do all mythologies, a wisdom tradition hidden ('occulted') under 'esoteric symbols'. Myths are not lies but the only way of passing on the ineffable.

Discussing the relation between all this is what my postal smial is all about. The Flame of Anor, as you all know, is the Order of Wizards and, I suppose, their source of power.
